October 12, 2020 (London, KY): The State Homeland Security Program (SHSP) assists state, local, tribal, and territorial efforts to build, sustain, and deliver the capabilities necessary to prevent, prepare for, protect against, and respond to acts of terrorism. SHSGP supports the implementation of risk driven, capabilities-based approaches to address capability targets set in urban area, state, and regional Threat and Hazard Identification and Risk Assessments (THIRAs). The State’s capability targets are established during the THIRA process, and assessed in the Stakeholder Preparedness Report (SPR) and inform planning, organization, equipment, training, and exercise needs to prevent, protect against, mitigate, respond to, and recover from acts of terrorism and other catastrophic events.
The Cumberland Valley Area Development District has been awarded a grant for $40,000 for Cybersecurity. CVADD will use the funds to provide risk assessments for county clerks offices in the 8 county region. By enhancing cyber security, we will be able to address vulnerabilities and improve cybersecurity of critical infrastructure to meet minimum levels identified by CISA.
